This remote had alot of potential. The ergonomics are great. The screen has a great resolution. Button layout is very thoughtful. But if you want it to do more than be a paper weight, well you have a problem. I never thought a $400 remote would be so horrible. I really think this remote is powered by Windows ME. If you try to do to many things at once, it locks up and reboots. If you take it off the charger and put it back on too quickly, it reboots. If you pick it up and it hasn't been used in awhile, it reboots.

If you control your devices by RF (which is the only reson you would buy this remote over the harmony one) expect a .25 - .50 sec delay. Yes, maybe you can live with that and get use to it. But why doesn't a $10 remote have a delay???? Also, I am a big fan of RF. This remote claims 100'. It can't even do 13' through one wall reliably (yes I measured). It will control by RF in the same room very well, but so does IR (and with no delay). So if you want to be dissapointed, buy this remote.

Did I mention that I can't update it since the initial update without getting an error? I have set up this remote 3 times, reinstalled the software 4 times. I have set up 2 different accounts. I have been on the phone with tech support for 3 days straight, and it still isn't set up correctly. By the way, tech support is only for 90 days, then you have to pay for it. Which is pretty funny considering they outsource it to the Philippines.

I have had many Logitech products, and never a problem with any of them. But I will never buy another remote from them. It's pretty sad too, this remote had alot of potential. It's not like this is their first attempt at making a remote. They should have figured out this stuff by now.

While i agree that the price is steep for this remote, I have to say it's the best remote I have owned for my theater system. I can finally control all of my components from one simple remote. At the time I had 6 or 7 remotes to control the components and features on them, Now with the Harmony 900 I can control every feature from all my components easily. The software is very easy to use. I'm glad I choose this remote and enjoying everyday using it.

As others, I have the RF range problem. I'm 9 feet away from my cabinet, and the RF won't reach it! Bunk product!

Plus the screen is much slower than the Harmony One (which I also have ... and like). If you don't need the RF, stick with the Harmony One until the fix the 900.

A basic multifuntion remote will be a lot less frustrating for a basic remote. So far it does not execute all the programmed functions. The website programming software locks up and will not communicate with the remote without multiple reboots. Input list includes all those on my tv but there is no option to add all of them to the device screen. Way too much effort required and multiple updates required to try to get all devices added and funtions programmed. Still cant manage to get the cable on, the tv on and the correct input selected. Have to use guideded help every time to get everything on and off. Save your money and get a cheaper version.

Unlike nearly every model before it and nearly every universal remote made, the 900 and 1100 can't do sequences (a.k.a macros) at all. Logitech inexplicably removed sequence capabilities from it's latest models. Evaluate your needs very carefully before buying this model.
