I bought one of these for my notebook and absolutely love it, but I can't get the new one to work on my desktop for some reason. It will not work before or after I install the software. I have been wanting to go online to see if I can find something to help but haven't had time yet.

Great in all aspects, as one would expect from a company like Logitech.
However the wheel cannot act as a middle button! Unacceptable.

I just received my VX Nano today and was very excited to use it, after reading all the glowing reviews. Everything went just fine, until I tried to use my Logitech cordless keyboard. It didn't work.

After searching through everything that came with the mouse and then searching through Logitech's online support, I couldn't find any information on how to connect my keyboard. Finally, I called Logitech tech support. The technician who answered sheepishly told me that the Nano receiver will only work with the Nano. If I want to use a cordless keyboard, I have to use another receiever. AND, the Nano won't work with any other receiver. What?!!

I can't believe no one has commented on this yet. I went back and looked at all the info on Amazon and on the Logitech website and no mention of this is made anywhere. In fact, to the contrary, there are pictures of the Nano receiver next to the older generations of receivers. Wouldn't this lead a reasonable person to believe that the Nano receiver is the next generation of Logitech receivers for use with all of their cordless products? Every other receiver in the picture will do that.

And who wants to tie up two USB ports to use a cordless mouse and keyboard?

Anway, it's a nice mouse that will work great for laptop users who don't use a cordless external keyboard, but I think Logitech really blew it by not including that capability for the rest of us. I'm sending mine back.

Be careful with this product !!
I ended up buying 2 of them. Because you will not be able to scroll in the laptop with the receiver in the USB port. Lets say you are inside the aircraft and you want to use the laptop without the mouse. OR you are in a situation when a colleague or friend wants to scroll the pdf pages in your laptop in order to show you something. It is quite likely you will remove the receiver so that you can do your work in a limited space or make it easy for your colleague/friend to scroll the pages without the mice. If you remove the receiver the chances of losing it is VERY HIGH. Now if you are always on high alert and cautious to the nth degree, thats different. But lets be practical. I lost 2 receivers. Both the time in places outside work / home. The "nano" is the problem. The reciever is tiny and hence difficult to locate. Sometimes you end up keeping in your pocket or in your bag , you forget for a day or two or just for the moment and thats it..
I think logitech should really and seriously think how the receiver, the mouse can remain tied to the laptop and hence reduce the chances of losing either of them. In my quest for using the nano mouse, I ended up buying nearly 200 USD worth of mouse (3 mouse in total out of which 2 were replacement). The 3rd one of course was not a Nano. I switched.
